Fee Notes

How Etsy fees apply

This page follows Etsy's published US seller fee structure: a $0.20 listing fee for each item sold from a listing, a 6.5% transaction fee on the item price plus buyer-paid shipping, and Etsy Payments processing at 3% plus $0.25 per order.

The optional Offsite Ads selector models Etsy's attributed-order fee as either 15% or 12% of the sale price plus buyer-paid shipping, capped at $100 for a single order. That lets this calculator cover a meaningful Etsy fee variable that many simple calculators ignore.

You can also use this page as an Etsy Profit Calculator by opening the cost section and adding item cost, seller-paid shipping cost, and packaging cost. Profit margin stays anchored to revenue so the percentage remains comparable across listings.

How To Use

How to use this calculator

  1. Enter the sale price, buyer-paid shipping, and quantity to estimate order revenue and the core Etsy fees.
  2. If the order came from Offsite Ads, choose the 15% standard or 12% reduced rate. Leave it at None when the order was not attributed to Offsite Ads.
  3. Open the profit section to add item cost, seller-paid shipping cost, and packaging cost when you want payout plus net profit on the same page.

Example

How much does Etsy take from a $25 sale?

Sell one item for $25 and charge $5 shipping, and revenue is $30.00. Etsy's listing fee ($0.20), transaction fee ($1.95), and payment processing fee ($1.15) total $3.30, leaving a seller payout of $26.70. With an $8 item cost, $4 shipping cost, and $1 packaging cost, net profit is $13.70 and profit margin is 45.67%. Turn on 15% Offsite Ads and the ad fee adds $4.50, cutting net profit to $9.20.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does this Etsy calculator include the $0.20 listing fee for every quantity sold?

Yes. Etsy's fees policy says multi-quantity listings renew after each item sells, so this calculator applies the $0.20 listing fee per quantity rather than once per order.

How does the Offsite Ads option work here?

Choose None, 15% standard, or 12% reduced depending on whether the order was attributed to Offsite Ads and which Etsy program rate applies to your shop. The calculator applies that percentage to sale price plus buyer-paid shipping and caps the result at $100 per order.

Why does quantity affect the listing fee but not the $0.25 processing fixed fee?

The listing fee renews for each item sold from a multi-quantity listing, so it scales with quantity. The fixed $0.25 part of Etsy Payments processing is charged once per order, so the calculator applies it once even when quantity is greater than 1.

What Etsy fees or costs are still outside this estimate?

This page does not model every possible Etsy charge. Country-specific payment processing rates, taxes, refunds, Etsy Ads spend, regulatory operating fees, subscriptions, and other account-specific adjustments can change your actual payment-account results.
